On 4th of August on the occasion of the feast of St John Mary Vianney, the Rachol seminary sports cell organised another volleyball match. The match was played between the Priests and the seminarians. The match started at 4:50 pm on the volleyball court of the seminary. In the beginning both the teams prayed asking God for his protection and assistance during the game. The main official was Sem. Dion Rodrigues and the assistant official was Sem. Kennedy Mascarenhas. Amidst the cloudy weather began the first set wherein the Priests started on a very solid note taking two consecutive points and bringing pressure on the seminarians but the seminarians did not get pressurised but responded by winning the first set easily. In the second set suddenly, there was a change of tide and it was the Priests who won the second set and with same enthusiasm went on to win the third set too. Just as the game seemed to be leaning in favour of the Priests who were inching closer to victory the seminarians made a good comeback and won the fourth set making the score 2-2. All the eyes were on the final set as it was the decider with both teams giving in their best there was a little room for mistakes but after 2 deuces the game was won by the Priests adding to their joy of Pastors’ day. The best player of the match was Rev. Fr. Donato Rodrigues. With this another activity of the Rachol Seminary sports cell came to a successful end.
