On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Parish, the parishioners of St. Anthony Church, Galgibaga, under the leadership of the Parish Priest, Fr. Santana D’souza, on 18th September 2023, organized the Vocation Sunday match between Galgibaga Parish Youth and Rachol Seminarians at the Canacona ground (Devbhag). The chief guest for the match was Fr. Patrick, the Dean of Canacona Deneary. The match began with a lot of positive intent from both sides with the Rachol Seminarians taking a slender lead 1-0 courtesy of a fine strike by Sem. Lourdes Simeos. While the Galgibaga youth did the attacking and came close with well-taken shots, Rachol Seminary custodian Fr. Jollyson made some fine saves. Against the run of play, Sem. Nion Colaco added the second goal by completing a perfect counter. Thus, both teams entered into the breather with the scores reading 2-0 in favour of Rachol seminarians. The second half witnessed a resurgence from Galgibaga youth, who relentlessly attacked the Rachol goal with full intensity prompting the Rachol Seminarians to defend deep for a longer period. But Rachol Seminarians were up to the challenge and even added one more goal through a quick counter which was calmly finished by Sem. Alvito Fernandes. In the added time Galgibaga youth pulled one back through Hensie making a final score 3-1. The match was followed by a prize distribution ceremony.

The prizes were awarded to the following players:
Man of the match: Ronaldo
Best scorer of the match: Sem. Nion Colaco
Best defender of the match: Sem. Standly Colaco
Best goalkeeper of the match: Fr. Jollyson Fernandes.

All the proceedings for the day were wonderfully brought to a fitting end with a fellowship meal shared by the youth, Parish Priest Fr. Santana, and the entire Rachol community.
