On the 19th of August 2023, His Eminence Archbishop-Patriarch Most Rev Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão conferred the ministries of Lector and Acolyte to 14 seminarians from the Second year of Theology, at the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol. The solemn mass began at 9:30 am at the Seminary Church, presided by His Eminence Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão. The theme for the mass was “Devache Utor porgottun ani seva diun, Jezun kelam toxem korunk”. With this in mind, the archbishop in his homily stressed on Jesus’ servant leadership and urged the new aspirants to emulate Him in their lives, and being witness to Christ in their ministry and life.
After the final blessings, the Rector of the house, Rev. Dr. Donato Rodrigues expressed His gratitude to the Archbishop and congratulated the 14 candidates. He continued expressing his gratitude to all the his brother Priests in the house and also the Priests and parents that helped the seminarians in their parishes It was followed by a vote of thanks by Sem Canjoy on behalf of His colleagues. Thereafter Cardinal-Patriarch expressed his greetings to the candidates on the occasion and also thanked the formators of the house. He urged the formators to collectively work in the formation house and later urged the seminarians to be maximalists in our formation especially in our academic pursuits.
