The Sports Cell of the Rachol Seminary (SCRS) organized its Annual Sports day on the 9th of February 2020 at 3.15 PM at the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol ground. There were 26 parishes from all over Goa attending the event. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Osvald Da Costa and Mr. Francisco Dias. The Guest of Honor was Miss. Natasha Palha. The Chief Guest, Mr. Osvald Da Costa, in his address called each and every person to set down their mobiles and to be outdoors, which is the need of the hour.

The seminarians put up a good display of discipline and coordination through their March Past. The seminarians marched gracefully on the beat of the Brass Band of the Seminary. The Rector, Rev. Fr Aleixo Menezes, welcomed the gathering which then set the ball rolling for the day. Sem. Anmol Da Costa and Sem. Frazer Vaz kept the crowd engaged with their remarkable compering skills. The races of the seminarians – 100 mts, 200 mts and 4×100 mts; along with the sports activities for the participants of each Parish – 100 mts, 200 mts creative hurdles, set the adrenaline pumping. The Football drill and the Pyramids performed by the seminarians were wonderfully choreographed by Sem. Valancio Fernandes and Sem. Slater Alemao respectively; each giving a beautiful message to all the Catechists and Catechetical students present.

The games for the children and the catechists kept the audience engrossed. The academic excellence awards of the year 2018-2019, were presented to the seminarians.

This year the Individual championship was shared by Sem. Wilfred Mascarenhas and Sem. Standly Colaco. The House-wise championship was presented to the Blue house for their excellent performance on field for this academic year. The vote of thanks was presented by Sem. Movin Fernandes, the President of the SCRS who specially thanked the Animator of SCRS, Rev. George Dias. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
