The Inaugural Function of the new Formation-Academic Year 2022-2023 of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol and the Good Shepherd Institute of Philosophy and Theology was held on 2nd July 2022. Cardinal designate Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrão presided over by the Inaugural Mass to the Holy Spirit, which was concelebrated by the Vicar General, Fr. Jose Remedios Fernandes, members of the resident staff, visiting teaching faculty and some guest priests. At the end of the Mass, the teaching resident staff of the Institute took the oath of fidelity before the Archbishop.
As is the tradition in the Seminary for the last few years, the transplantation of the rice/paddy fields is done on the Inaugural Day. Well-wishers from Borda, Agalli, Housing Board, Nuvem, Siroda, Raia and Rachol volunteer to help in the transplantation. After the Mass, Archbishop-Patriarch Filipe Neri Ferrão blessed the fields and the volunteers and appreciated with gratitude their contribution towards the Seminary.
The Good Shepherd Institute of Philosophy and Theology is marked by the traditional Lectio Brevis, which was delivered this year by Fr. Daniel Pereira, teacher of systematic theology at the Institute on the topic Deciphering the Dimensions of Discipleship in the Documents of Pope Francis
The Santa Cecilia Choir of the Seminary under the baton of Fr. Mathew Rebello animated the singing at the mass and conducted the Orchestra and the Choir at the Inaugural Function in the Seminary Auditorium
