The Catechetical Seminar was organised by the Catechetical Unit of the Rachol Seminary on the 22nd September 2024 at 3.00 pm in the Rachol Seminary Church. Catechists from the various Parishes/Chapels, where our seminarians go for their Sunday or Weekend ministries, wholeheartedly participated in this Seminar. The event started by invoking God’s blessings through the introductory prayer led by Sems. Canjoy Fernandes and Roshel Fernandes. Soon after the prayer, a lovely original action song performed by Sems. Dion Rodrigues and Caron Cardozo and their team kept the audience enthusiastic. Then, The Rector of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, Rev. Dr. Donato Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. The compere of the day were Sems. Sanvy Cardoso and Jayson Colaco. The theme of the Seminar was “Misachea Bhaganchi Somzonnim, Paskanchea Guttachi Porgottnni”. The discourses on the same were delivered by the 3rd Yr Theology Seminarians namely, Sems. Aestrony Costa, Kennedy Mascarenhas and Aaron D’Souza. Sem. Aestrony gave a brief history of the Holy Eucharist, Sem. Kennedy spoke on the first part of the Mass, i.e. the Liturgy of the Word and Sem. Aaron delivered his discourse on the Liturgy of the Eucharist. In between these discourses, we had a sumptuous tea, under the leadership of Sems. Valancio Fernandes and Fedrick Vas, the “Khell – the Liturgical Game” was conducted. At the end the coordinator for the event, Sem. Roshel Fernandes expressed his heart felt gratitude to all. Rev. Fr. Snyter Pereira, the Animator of the Catechetical Unit, explained and clarified some of the doubts of the people concerning the Eucharist which gave a fitting conclusion to the event.
