The ‘Seminary Day-2022’ of the Rachol Seminary was held on 19th December 2022 in the Seminary Auditorium. His Eminence, Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão presided over the function and Rev. Fr. Nazareth Fernandes SFX, the Superior General of the Society of Pilar was the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour were Dr. Piedade and Ms. Vaishali Clemente, Mr. Alan D’Cunha, Mr. Clinton Vaz and Dr. Harold and Ms Shinee D’Costa. In his welcome address, Fr. Aleixo Menezes, Rector of the Seminary, besides welcoming the dignitaries and giving important information about the Seminary, noted that the Guests of Honour were invited so that the Seminary could publicly acknowledge with gratitude their immense service to the seminarians and priests.
The programme consisted of an orchestral piece ‘Rosamunde’ by Franz Schubert; two choral pieces namely, ‘Kunnbi Jakki’ arranged by Fr. Romeo Monteiro and ‘Medley from Sister Act’ arranged by Mac Huff. The orchestral piece and the choral pieces were conducted by Fr. Mathew Rebello, Professor of Music. The Konkani nattkulem ‘Maipas’ by Damodar Kamat Bambolkar was staged under the direction of Fr. Donato Rodrigues, Professor of Moral Theology.
His Eminence, Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão released LUCEAS, the Seminary Magazine, which was prepared by Fr. Daniel Pereira as editor together with the editorial team. Prizes were distributed for the seminarians who excelled in academic in 2021-2022. The programme was compered by Sem. Boris Dias and ended with the singing of the Seminary Anthem
