St. Ignatius of Loyola Feast

The ABC of Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao Recalled!

The solemn Eucharistic celebration in honour of the patron of the Seminary Church, St. Ignatius of Loyola was held at Rachol Seminary on 31st July. It was presided over by the Rector, Rev. Dr. Aleixo Menezes and concelebrated by 16 other priests, which include past Rectors and neigbhouring parish priests. The theme for the celebration was, “Avhanik Gonvlikponn, somudaik munniarponn”. In his homily, Rev. Dr. Victor Ferrao insightfully presented some challenges to priestly life and recalled the ABC found in the pastoral letter 2013-2014 of the Archbishop as answer to these challenges, namely, Adopting a new mindset, Building a new leadership style and Charting a new pastoral approach. The parts of the mass were sung in Latin under the direction of Fr. Romeo Monteiro. It was followed by a agape lunch and a football match between the St. Cecilia Choir and Non-Choir Members (St. John Mary Vianney Choir) of the seminary graced the day. St. John Mary Vianney emerged victorious by a solitary goal scored early in the first half by Sem. Flaston Vaz.
