The Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol had its first L.A.C.A.R.S activity on the 27th of July 2023 at 3:15 pm based on the theme, “Gõychi Maslli Ani Gõyche Kharvi”. The program consisted of two main events, on-stage and off-stage. The off-stage events had seminarians and staff members, enthusiastically participating in the events allotted to them, to show case their talents by bringing out beautifully crafted wealth out of waste articles, fish cooking competition, essay writing and mirror-decorating. Similarly, the on-stage event comprised of an extempore speech on Gõycheo mhonn’nneo and group singing. The occasion was graced by the presence of the guest for the evening, Mr. Custodio D’Souza (a traditional fisherman and the president of All Goa canoe and fishing cooperative) who, in his address emphasized on the struggles and challenges faced by the Goan fishermen which is not seen brought to the government’s attention. The judge for the evening was Ms. Swizel Vaz. (Teacher and singer from Curtorim), who also sang beautifully on stage. Finally, towards the end of the program the coordinator for the event Sem. Cidroy Fernandes graciously thanked everyone in his vote of thanks.
