L.A.C.A.R.S. Activity I
God has given each of us a talent, and as Matthew 25:15 says, “To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability.” With these words deeply embedded in the hearts of Christ’s followers, the seminarians of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol under the Literary Art and Cultural Activities of Rachol Seminary (LACARS) cell has brought to life these words in acoalescence of colours. The guest judges for the evenings programme were Fr. Roman Rodrigues, who contributed immensely to the art of the seminary, Dr. Roshida Rodrigues, HOD of philosophy Dhempe College and enjoys cooking, Mr. Lincker Furtado, Worked in Royal Caribbean and various other places and presently co-owner of House No. 2 Restaurant in Ambora. The eventful activities were allotted to each of the four assigned groups before-hand. The activities included a Restaurant design, a special Goan Dish competition entitled ‘foodies’, news report, letter to the editor, Goa’s logo, and a banner painting competition. The seminarians participated with vivaciousness and zeal. After the judges evaluated each groups presentation of the activities prearranged for them they selected the top three groups. The evening ended with a few words from Fr. Roman Rodrigues who shared with us his experience both as a seminarian who once participated in many LACARS activities and as a Judge. Sem. Tyson Dacosta the coordinator of the event whose tireless efforts could be seen in the success of the programme, gave a few words of thanks and appreciation to the judge, the Rector, staff and the seminarians for joining their hands together to give back to God the talent he blessed us with.
