Feast of St. Theresa

Seminarians of Philosophy celebrate the feast of their patroness St. Terese of Child Jesus

‘Like St. Terese we all are gifted with talents, we need to use them for community-building for the Love of God and we need to love others for what they are and not for their talents’ was the simple yet powerful message delivered by Fr. Polly Lobo as the main celebrant on the occasion of the feast of St. Terese of Child Jesus, the patroness of the Seminarians of Philosophy celebrated on the 1st of October in the Seminary Chapel, at the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol.
The Seminarians of Philosophy organized a variety entertainment programme. The programme was set into motion with the orchestra arranged by Sem. Newton Fernandes. The choral piece was set to music by Sem. Newton Fernandes and Lyrics penned by Sem. Tyson D’Costa. The novelty of the choral piece was that it was not performed on the stage but on the floor with the audience, in four groups, two in front at the extremes, one at right side and the other on the left. The choral piece was polyphonic in action. A pastorally relevant musical ‘Bhavartacho Divo’ directed by Sem. Aidan Fernandes, highlighted the sporadically mushrooming healers/healing ministry and its challenge to revisit our Catholic Faith. The programme was spiced with the contemporary dance choreographed by Sems. Tyson D’costa and Clive Diniz. The icing on the cake of the programme was the Manddo composed by Sem. Aestrony Costa.
‘Humans are becoming more techful beings, relying more on technology rather than faith in God’ was echoed by Sem. Aidan Fernandes while pondering on the theme of the JIVIT Magazine and thanked all the contributors and mentors. Fr. Rector, Dr. Aleixo Menezes congratulated and appreciated the Seminarians of Philosophy and their Animator Fr. Simon D’Cunha and encouraged the Racholites to be a powerhouse built on Faith. The Dean of Philosophy, Rev. Dr. Victor Ferrao inspired us to be makers of way by learning the Little Way of St. Terese and by being open to the unfolding of the Broad Way of God.
The President of the feast, Sem. Sanford Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks admitted that the success of the feast was due to the little efforts of every seminarian of Philosophy. The comperes were Sems. Aestrony Costa and Leslie Noronha. The feast was graced with an agape meal.
